Introducing the Zenefits Platform: Integrated Apps

How many different tools and systems does your business rely on? If you’re like most small businesses, you’re likely using a dozen different systems to handle everything from sales, marketing, payroll, accounting, HR, employee benefits, employee performance, recruiting, productivity, communication, recordkeeping, and more. And if you’re like most small business owners, you find that maintaining and updating all of these systems takes precious time away from your core business activities.

What if you didn’t have to spend so much time updating and managing different systems? What if the tools you used were able to talk to one another and share the necessary information? Imagine if the next time you made a hire, everything from their email to their expense account to their stock options was instantly prepared and ready, without you having to go to each system individually?

With the new Zenefits App Directory, you can do just that.

We’ve partnered with a number of popular business apps and integrated them into the Zenefits Platform:

G Suite (formerly Google for Work)
Office 365

What’s unique about these integrations is how deeply they’re connected within the Zenefits platform. Integrated apps sit right alongside your Zenefits apps in the dashboard, making them easy to access. They can also share information through Zenefits, which means that when changes are made in Zenefits, apps can take note and make any adjustments or changes necessary. For example, if you change someone’s manager within Zenefits, the Expensify app will take note and ask if you’d also like to update that person’s approver for expenses. Or similarly, if you update someone’s employment information in Zenefits, Salesforce will ask if you’d like to update their role/profile in Salesforce as well.

One of the best benefits of having these apps be so deeply integrated with Zenefits is how they work within hiring and termination actions. We’ve heard from our customers that it’s a huge hassle to add a new hire to all of the different apps a business uses (and likewise, removing them when that employee departs) — so now Zenefits is able to do it for you. Once you’ve got your integrated apps set up in Zenefits, whenever you hire or terminate an employee, you’ll be able to get them set up (or removed) from all of those apps — right within Zenefits.

This is just the first step in our journey towards building the Zenefits Platform. In the future, we’ll be adding more apps across many different functions, and expanding on the types of information that each app can tap into within Zenefits. Ultimately, we want the Zenefits Platform to be able to tackle the work of updating all the apps you use, so that you don’t have to.
