Certain states do have laws regarding paid maternity leave. Depending on your state, you may not be required to offer your employees paid maternity leave.

A PFL study on California’s Paid Family Leave program correlated PFL with numerous benefits for both employees and employers, including profitability. In fact, 91% of employers who participated in the study reported that paid time off for pregnancy had a positive effect or no noticeable effect on profitability.
