map of the minimum wage changes

On July 1st of this year, nineteen minimum wage increases occurred across the United States and your company might be affected. In total, two states, the District of Columbia, and sixteen other localities were impacted by these changes and for many, this is just the first of several increases that are scheduled to be implemented on July first of each sequential year. As these changes have already occurred in 2018, your company will want to review your current non-exempt employee’s hourly wage and make payroll adjustments accordingly. You can find a review of these changes in our tables below.

How can you stay on top of minimum wage changes?

While these mid-year changes affect nineteen locations, there are several other minimum wage increases occurring on separate annual schedules. Most of these changes will go into effect on either January 1st or July 1st of each year; however, some locations – like Delaware (10/1/2018) – change throughout the year.

In order for your company to remain compliant with these increases, you will want to frequently review the minimum wage updates in your company’s varying work locations and adjust employee’s hourly wage if needed.
