The quick answer would be to offer the same perks you offer any other employee to assure you are not discriminating against them based on their (presumed) age or against any other protected group.

If you are considering adding additional perks for these staffers, one that might be helpful is financial planning. Your 401(k) plan administrator may have resources available to help employees plan for their financial stability in retirement. You’re likely already paying for the service (or it may be available at a nominal fee) so leverage it to their advantage.

Another suggestion – ask the employee what resources, if any, you can provide to help them during the transition. They’ll likely know where they need assistance.
